Whistleblower Policy

Purpose
Somerset Origination is committed to conducting its operations with integrity, transparency, and accountability. This Whistleblowing Policy enables employees, contractors, and other stakeholders to report concerns about wrongdoing or misconduct without fear of retaliation.
Scope
This policy applies to all employees, contractors, consultants, and suppliers. It covers concerns raised in the public interest, including but not limited to:
- Criminal activity
- Bribery or corruption
- Breaches of legal or regulatory obligations
- Unsafe practices or health & safety violations
- Environmental damage or misconduct
- Modern slavery, human rights abuses, or labour violations
- Attempts to conceal any of the above
Reporting a Concern
If you believe that serious wrongdoing has occurred or is likely to occur, you are encouraged to raise your concern as soon as possible.

Concerns will be treated confidentially, and the identity of the whistleblower will only be disclosed where absolutely necessary and with consent where possible.
Protection from Retaliation
Somerset Origination strictly prohibits retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith, even if the concern is later found to be unfounded. Disciplinary action will be taken against anyone who retaliates against a whistleblower.
Investigation and Follow-up
All reports will be acknowledged and assessed within 10 business days. Where necessary, an internal investigation will be carried out or referred to external authorities. The whistleblower will be informed of the outcome where appropriate and legally permissible.
External Reporting
If you do not feel comfortable raising the issue internally or believe your concern has not been adequately addressed, you may contact a prescribed external body such as:
- The Health and Safety Executive (HSE)
- The Environment Agency
- The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)
- A legal adviser
